Overview

Island Peak is one of the most popular peak climbing in Nepal. Island Peak climbing is probably the best trip in Nepal adored by adventure seekers. Island peak climbing meant a lot to mountaineers for it is exciting for both serious climbers. This can be the perfect choice for those who want to mix adventure in their trekking. This trek is also one of the most sought treks in Nepal. This peak is clearly seen from the Dingboche. The mountain itself is the extension of the South Ridge of Lhotse Shar separated by a small col.

This trek offers the stunning view of Himalayan panorama and you will come to see Buddhist culture. This trek also provides spectacular views of the Himalayans. From the summit, we see many peaks such as Nuptse (7,879m), Lhotse (8,501m), Lhotse Middle Peak (8,410m) and Lhotse Shar (8,383m) make a semi circle in the north. The views of Makalu (8475m), Barutse (7129m) in the east and famous expedition peak of Amadablam (6812m) in the south are never to be forgotten.

 

Day 01: Up on arrival in Tribhuvwan International Airport and transfer to the hotel, overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Preparation and short brief for the trip and rest time sightseeing.

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m), and trek to Phakding (2610m).

Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazar (3440m).

Day 05: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazar

Day 06: Namche to Tengboche (3860m).

Day 07: Tengboche to Dingbohce (4410m).

Day 08: Acclimatization day at Dingboche.

Day 09: Dingboche to Chhukhung (4730m).

Day 10: Chhukung to Island Peak Base camp (5080m).

Day 11: Island Peak Base Camp to High Camp (5600m).

Day 12: Island Peak High camp to summit Back to Base Camp.

Day 13: Extra Day in for in case bad weather.

Day 14: Base Camp to Dingboche (4410m).

Day 15: Dingboche to Tengboche (3860m).

Day 16: Tengboche to Namche Bazar (3440m).

Day 17: Namche Bazar to Lukla (2840m).

Day 18: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu (35 min flight).

Day 19: Trip and Trek representative transfers you to International airport for your final departure.

Day 01: Up on arrival in Tribhuvwan International Airport.
Our Trip and Trek representative assist you at Tribhuvwan International Airport and transfers you to the hotel. Overnight at hotel on BB basis.

Day 02: Preparation and short brief about the trip rest time sight of Kathmandu valley.
After breakfast, half day sightseeing of Kathmandu valley and rest of the time preparation for the expedition. Overnight at hotel on BB basis.

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m) and trek to Phakding (2610m).
Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla, for 35 minutes. The sights from the plane are amazing, providing dramatic views of terraced hills and the distant Himalayan giants. From Lukla trek to Phakding. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazar (3440m).
Trekking to Dudh Koshi, crossing this majestic river many times on exciting suspension bridges laden with prayer flags. After entering Sagamartha National Park, the trail climbs steeply with breathtaking views to Namche Bazar, the gateway to the Khumbu Region. Overnight at lodge in Namche Bazar.

Day 05: Acclimatization day Namche Bazar.
Short walk around museum to celebrate the traditional custom of the Sherpa’s people. Hike up the Syangboche Airport and around Everest View Hotel. From this point, we can see rewarding views of the Himalayas with a stunning sunrise and sunset over the panorama of Khumbu peaks. Overnight stay at guesthouse.

Day 06: Namche to Tengboche (3860m).
The large Sherpa settlement of Khumjung and then descends deep into the Dudh Koshi Valley at Pungki Thanka. The trail then ascends the right flank of the Dudh Koshi valley to Tengboche at 3860m, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery, spiritual center of the Khumbu. Overnight at lodge.

Day 07: Tengboche to Dingboche (4410m).
Descend through a beautiful forest, then cross the Imja Khola and trek through the village of Pangboche. The route continues through summer pastures to Dingboche 4410 m. Overnight stay at guesthouse/lodge.

Day 08: Acclimatization day at Dingboche.
Acclimatization trek around Dingboche to get a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains especially, Lhotse’s massive south wall, then return to Dingboche in the evening. Overnight stay at guesthouse.

Day 09: Dingboche to Chhukhung (4730m).
Climbing up gradually to the small settlement of Chhukhung. Along the way we have great views of Island Peak. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 10: Chhukung to Island Peak Base camp (5080).
From Chhukhung, the path leads steep, climbing south and then turn east line of the valley. Then the trail twists below the southern flank of the moraine from the Lhotse glacier. We continue short pleasant walking along the river side and leads to a Big-rock. On the south of this rock, the AmphuLapcha route lies. The criss cross route through Imja and Lhotse glacier leads to a wide valley. It flanks the south west side of the Island peak. Overnight at tent camp.

Day 11: Island Peak Base Camp to High Camp (5600m).
From base camp we head towards the Island peak high camp. Then we start climbing the mountain. The path then goes beyond the base camp before we strike off left up the steep hillside. At the beginning, the path is sandy but soon it turns into lush before becoming boulder strewn. The slope contracted as you climb up the hill. Then the path enters a steep rock channel. We stay overnight at Island peak high camp. You will be provided meals in the tent.

Day 12: High camp to Island Peak summit and back to Base Camp (5080m).
The trail leads to the ridgeline and it ultimately leads to traverse on to the snout of the summit glacier. Glacier as it contains several crevasses but it leads without difficulty, to a 100m (330ft) snow and ice slope on which the guides will fix a rope. From the top of this slope, 3 rope lengths along a sharp summit ridge lead to the top. After enjoying the summit descend back to Base Camp.

Day 13: Extra Day in for in case of bad weather.

Day 14: Base Camp to Dingboche (4410m).
Trek down from Base Camp to Dingboche. Overnight at lodge.

Day 15: Dingboche to Tengboche (3860m).
Trek down from Dingboche to Tengboche via Pangboche and overnight at lodge.

Day 16: Tengboche to Namche Bazar (3440m).
Trek down from Tengboche to Namche Bazar via Phungi Thanga. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 17: Namche Bazar to Lukla (2840m).
Trek down from Namche Bazar to Lukla via Phakding. On the way one can see the national flower rhododendron and magnolia forest. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 18: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu.
Fly back from Lukla to kathmandu, which takes around 35 minutes. Overnight at hotel on BB basis.

Day 19: Final Departure.
Our trip and treks representative assist you at your hotel and transfers you to the Tribhuvwan International Airport for your final departure.
